Some people know nothing about God.

So, morning prayer was good as usual, but there were only six people there this morning. Hyun Ja (the UCLA coordinator) was the only girl there :(. But my shepherd group represented with four guys (although, two of them are supposed to be there). I woke up feeling like real crap; I had a sore throat and was just all stuffed up in the morning. On the way to prayer while I was walking, my eyes teared up for some reason. It was like my body saying “NO” but my spirit saying “YES,” I suppose.

The bad thing about it is that yesterday at church prayer, people prayed over me to be healed, and at that time I was just having that little cough ever since I got sick at Gabriel’s house after eating those stale chips. But this morning, it was just like, horrible sick. I have had worse, but Hyun Ja thought it could be spiritual, since I was better yesterday and they prayed over me. Today, they prayed over me again, and I felt a little bit better after, and then progressively better throughout the day. I was still close to fainting going in to Gospel Choir, but, praise God, Jazz Theory was cancelled, so I could go back to the dorms to sleep for an hour and a half.

I had English… time to write about that class. WE ARE LEARNING NOTHING ABOUT ENGLISH. WE ARE LEARNING ABOUT THE TOPIC OF IMMIGRATION AND HOW IT AFFECTS CALIFORNIA, IN HOPES OF BEING ABLE TO USE THAT SUBJECT TO BUILD AN ESSAY OFF OF. Although the teacher is really really nice and funny (she’s British), I really hate learning history in an English class. Call me old-fashioned, but I think they are supposed to teach the subject that the course is named after. Sorry, but I’m just a little bitter.

Speaking of bitterness, I was quite bitter in the morning about people not showing up to prayer even though that was the main point in my testimony in front of everyone at the Revivalution conference. Apparently, Satan has everyone believing that “it’s ok; someone else will be there to pray. I’m too tired anyway.” Hyun Ja led the prayer time and reminded us to confess anything hindering our hearts from real prayer. I, then, lifted that up. So, later on, when I saw Helen (who, so I don’t forget, is a 4th year student, graduating with a Neuroscience degree and getting married 12/20/03) at Gospel Choir, who usually comes out every time, I wasn’t bitter towards her. I had missed one meeting myself because I slept over. I told her, instead, to pray for the Holy Spirit to bring conviction and a deep desire to pray for our campus, shepherd groups, Revivalution, and church.

I’m tired… lifting weights on a vegetarian diet is a bit draining, but it’s hard for me to run or bike. Near East ensemble in one hour… shower now.

First shepherd group after the split… What can I say? We had a blessed time of testimonies about last quarter and the Revivalution conference. We really saw tonight how a brother in a community needs to be picked up and supported… What makes it tough is that our group is new, and we don’t know each other really on a personal level. But we are all God’s family, and community is the number one need in a shepherd group. On Fridays (Revivalution) and Sundays (Sunday Service) we go to get fed, and sit. But Dean said that on Wednesdays (Shepherd Group), it’s our chance to speak up and show the kind of community that we have all been talking about — to show active faith.

I praise God for giving Dan conviction. Only His Holy Spirit is what makes that possible. I know he won’t become numb to sin like I was very close to becoming (last year).

Go GOD! Morning prayer in 6 hours.

Something I need to put down for future reference:

Wootae told me that he heard a speaker talk about how Christians fall away. The reason is not because of something devastating or traumatic happening usually, but because there are constant compromises being made with the faith. “It won’t be so bad if I just spend an extra $100 on my shopping.” “It won’t be so bad if I miss church today to study.” “It won’t be so bad if I just go out with this non-Christian for a little while.” It really depends on your situation — what things you find where exceptions are constantly being made. If you don’t struggle with anything, then woohoo, but I don’t believe you.

My great grandma died this morning. My dad was on his way to see her to preach the Gospel, but he didn’t get the message in time before he left on the plane. I hope something good comes out of this.

Today I thought it would be nice to be vegetarian for a month or so. Luke (the lead guitarist for Revivalution) does it every few months or every other month; I forgot which. He said it makes you feel a lot better in the mornings and a whole bunch or other stuff. But why did I have to start when they had Chicken Tenders at the dining hall? Even Chicken Caesar Salad… bleh. I know God is worth it, though. Grumbling is silly.
