7) Elton’s and my joy over Lost. Now Billy, Dave Shin, and my family are starting to get/already are hooked. Greatest suspense show on TV right now, and the best drama too, IMHO… such compelling characters.
8) People enjoying my simple cooking.
9) Hanging out a bit with Reatha, a visiting missionary.
10) Making a little progress with an old riff that hadn’t developed much since I first came up with it.

1) A good hair day. Never thought I would say this, but I really loved my hair today. I think it was because I let it finish drying while I was sleeping.
2) Google lunch! I can’t stop thanking God for this!
3) That Billy and I are inviting Neil (Google receptionist) to lunch next week.
4) The cutest student I have, E****’s tooth came out during our lesson today. It was the bloodiest, disturbing, yet cutest lesson ever. She kept tonguing the bloodied fleshy leftover part in her gum afterwards to my disgust. She insisted it was not gross, but cool.
5) Working with a break in the middle.
6) Learning about authentic Indian cuisine and Indian history with K****** (student).
7) Elton’s friendship (sharing a movie with me through Nate’s flash drive).
8) Laughing with Dan at It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
9) IDM forums… we’ve been vigorously debating reason/faith in the side topics section.

My Nerd Side: Worms

Rarely does my nerd side come out so unabashedly… but tonight, Elton sent me a link to CrossOver, a new, affordable program that allows Windows applications to be used on Macs, all without a Windows license. The first things I could think of was Half-Life and Worms. But really, Worms was a secondary thought, because I didn’t want to get my hopes up too high. Worms was just too good to start longing after again… I think just repressed it.
I first played with Brian Lum way back in like middle school days, when we just knew it as a strategy blow-the-other-team-up kinda deal. But when I discovered Ninja Roping, I was hooked. I found someone to teach me, and eventually I joined a clan and owned fools.
Worms’ Ninja Rope is one of the coolest things ever thought up. You don’t have to agree, because it’s true any way you slice it.
Here is the insanest roper ever, Deadcode, doing an entire rope race map in one turn with the quickness. Note: every time you hear the rope sound consecutively, he is supposed to be pressing the space bar TWICE, once to shoot the rope, once to release it and let the worm fly.
So thinking about the possibility of having Worms run on my Mac was nothing short of titillating. And to prove the nerdness, as if the above wasn’t enough, I give you my Gchat convo with Billy:

but i play pro roper scheme
where there are indestructible walls, and usually two island masses, and a little water at the bottom, but not enough where the worm drowns
and so u can use the walls to bounce off and hide in different parts of a well-designed map
and ever turn a life +25 drops down
each starts with 200 health, only one worm per team
two teams
and u have to pick up the health before u attack all in 15 seconds
and then u get 5 seconds to hide

1) Not having a Sunday service to wake up for.
2) A really comfortable bed with a nice comforter.

4) My dad’s cooking… Ma Po Tofu, Ants Going Up a Tree (have no clue what the English name is), Napa Cabbage w/Pork Stir Fry, Preserved Bean Curd w/Pork. He could open a restaurant.
5) A really nice sofa.
6) HDTV, and the National Geographic channel… so amazing.
7) Watching Lost (season one) with the family.
8) My brother’s beef stew… very nice job, Wayne.
9) The best compliment yet on my music. A guy said he got emotional while listening.
10) No work in the morning tomorrow.

9) Greeted by Dad even though it was 2AM when I got home.

1) Class at De Anza, starting to learn a little more about electronic music, slowly but surely.
2) Better schedule for teaching starting to take shape. More rest, and same amount of work/income.
3) Seeing S**** (student)’s mom come in and help him learn. Good parents like that make the world go ’round.
4) Seeing Blake really start to take off… talent, man… the kid has talent.
5) Catching up a bit with Debbie. She’s been through a lot, but is still a cheerful person.
6) Meeting up for dinner with Amie and Erica, and Sergio and Lisa too!

10) That feeling you get when packages come in the mail. I got some nice cheap REI micro-fiber towels to use for whatever.
