waking up

1) Not working in the morning!
2) Hearing how God is working in Brian Lesko’s life.
3) Making some lunch with Dan… yummy.
4) Finishing some random little things.
5) Having a lesson. It felt good to be a teacher for a little while today…
6) Elton’s Pork/Tofu and Zucchini/Mushroom.
7) A brief but good time praying/worshipping at the Lins’.
8) Networking with bands.
9) Seeing Mud, The Dandelion War, and SETTLER, a San Jose post-rock band that is AWESOME.
10) Feeling like we are on the edge of something large.

1) I got up relatively early and got several things done.
2) Had a good time with Justin… now he is a fan of ramen.
3) Justin’s a good guy.
4) Some cancelled lessons, had some time to myself.
5) New Barefoot people attending my show…
6) Nate Jeung helping me connect with other bands and offering good advice.
7) Some good lessons.
8) Bill (fellow teacher) saying he would try to make it out.
9) Gabe (fellow teacher) giving me the low-down on the venues in SF.
10) Some leftovers Junshien offered me + fresh avocado.

1) Catching up on sleeeeeeep
2) Our final rehearsal before this Friday.
3) That we are pretty much ready.

5) Christine’s positive feedback from our private show (first and only run-through before the show).
6) Getting some time with Alba’s baby. He’s so chill!
7) Some good food at the barbecue.
8) Seeing lots of Haven there, and some new friends!
9) Getting like five more people to come out to the show. Awesome!

1) An unintentional wake up call from Nate.
2) Parched mouths appreciate San Francisco’s amazing tap water.

4) The guys actually wanted to have Indian food for once… funny because it was the one time I wasn’t craving it.
5) More BAAYF girl counselors! Thank God!!!
6) The BAAYF Worship Team… this year is going to be much smoother than last year, hopefully.

2) Having Spices! restaurant with Mom and Dad. Szechuan food is awesome.
3) Getting three of the bible studies done…
4) Nick’s party. Burgers with Muenster and Prosciutto, and Chicken/Pineapple/Mushroom/Bell Pepper Kabobs.
5) Nick’s friends and brothers are pretty cool. Matt is the craziest guy I know.
6) Seeing Tim again. I like that guy.
7) Meeting some weird girls… let’s just say it was a learning experience.
8) Random dudes from Long Beach, telling me how much they appreciate Pho.
9) Nick’s friends are coming to the show!
10) Grinding out the last bible study.
11) Good chat with Allen Miao. We haven’t just been friends for a long time, but we have really grown up together.

Thursday

3) Having a fun time chatting with Neil and Mike
4) Not having lessons… reminds me I have to be careful about my spending.
5) Costco membership!
6) A slice of Costco pizza.

8) New 8GB flash drive.
9) Hearing some more about the corporate world from Dave and Dave. It would be crippling to me, I think, but then I am reminded again by them how resilient a human being can be.

Friday

5) That my job is pretty easy sometimes.
6) That lots of people said they will come to the show.
7) Hanging out with Dave Shin at Billy’s house.
8) Seeing Case in Theory play again.

1) Nick coming over to rehearse again. I’m not thankful that Nick is currently unemployed per se, but man has it helped our time getting ready for the show…
2) Finally feeling like all the loose ends are coming together. It’s a great feeling.
3) Having a special from the Coop w/Nick. Chicken Saute Sec… freakin’ awesome.
4) My Zoom H4… these humble practice recordings are already priceless to me.
5) Meeting a guy from a new band. Hopefully we will do some shows with them someday soon…
6) Lessons went well.
7) Junshien being down to start meeting up.
8) Prayer was good… as usual.
9) Chipotle… it’s pretty decent.
10) That we’re gonna rock the house in two Fridays. Even though I obsess over and over again in my mind, I know it will be good.

Monday
1) Waking up and actually praying, rather than feeling ambivalent towards it.
2) Matthew 5-6. Man… I could probably spend a year meditating on ch. 5 alone.
3) The last of my Honey Bunches of Oats w/Almonds. I need to get me some more.
4) A long overdue trip to the gym… I walked there and back for a change. It took way too long.
5) Leftovers
6) Just playing some Metal Gear Solid 4.
7) Allen Miao coming over.
8) The Coop w/Allen.
9) Smash Bros. w/Allen. Got whooped, as usual.
10) An easy day.

Tuesday
1) I like my haircut more and more.
2) Leftovers for breakfast from BAAYF and trying out my new olallieberry jam. So Olallieberries are a hybrid of two berries (the loganberry and the youngberry) which are both hybrids as well (blackberry/raspberry and blackberry/dewberry, respectively). The result is nicely tart.
3) Time w/Justin.
4) String Beans w/Chicken over rice.
5) Getting to work right on time.
6) That four of my students did not cancel.
7) Trying 99 Chicken for the first time… pretty good.
8) Seeing Ted again for the first time in a few weeks. He’s looking healthier.
9) Usman letting me borrow his ghetto laptop for something I found that is Windows-only.
10) Junshien is a good housemate and a responsible person overall.
